I have been reading that SCOTUS is divided on the issue of whether a sitting president has absolute immunity which protects them from prosecution even after they have left office. It has been suggested that even serious crimes like murder could fall under this immunity umbrella.
So my question is a fairly simple one. If SCOTUS decides that this absolute immunity exists, then is there anything (other than one’s conscience) to prevent President Biden from shooting Supreme Court Judges while he is still in office?
Follow-up question. If the president were to do this, would the Secret Service be required to protect him while he did it?
