McCain disses Women

Tue Aug 26, 2008 at 07:51:42 AM PDT

If John McCain is truly so intensely sympathetic to the allegedly atrocious treatment of Hillary Clinton by whomever it was in the Democratic Party who has treated her and her husband so disrespectfully (never mind that Republicans, including McCain have been shamelessly disrespectful and downright mean to Hillary Clinton for many, many years)...then....perhaps he should walk the walk instead of just talking the talk...and name her as his vice presidential running mate.

John McCoin: Of, by and for the rich.

Tue Aug 19, 2008 at 11:34:24 AM PDT

It's been said that if John McCain succeeds in making this election "about Obama," McCain may stand a chance of winning.

And it seems to be a political truism that the ability to define one’s opponent is crucial on the national stage, and one in which Republicans have excelled in years past, in terms of always being able to come up with a way to paint their opponent, whomever it may be, as somewhat "out of step’ with average Americans (sometimes with the unintentional assistance of the Democratic nominees themselves, and despite that the Republican nominee is almost always even further out of step and divorced from the realities of average, everyday, working citizens of this country, but the Democrats have never let that minor fact distract them from their efforts to...go on the defensive, time and again ((sorry, but as a devout Democrat, some hopefully constructive criticism is always good to keep in mind as we go forward, in my humble opinion)).

U.S. Apology Due

Sat Sep 22, 2007 at 03:44:26 PM PDT

Despite that the American people and their unelected government in Washington have been conditioned to believe they should never admit they were ever wrong, even if they were...well...they were. The United States of America was simply wrong to needlessly invade Iraq, all for no good reason and all based on lies. It's about time someone said it. And it's about time that someone in a position of responsibility said so, too.

The United States of America and its people need to finally begin acting responsibly. The first step is to apologize. To whom? How about a long over-due apology by the United States of America to Iraq for needlessly killing tens of thousands of innocent men, women and Iraqi children, including babies and fetuses, all for no good reason and all based on lies.

Arnold: The $50 Million Man

Wed May 24, 2006 at 07:17:15 AM PDT

An article in this week's "The Nation" is somewhat startling. It seems to indicate that Arnold Schwarzenegger may be rebounding, politically. That, despite having taken special interest money and doing the bidding of those special interests while deceptively positioning himself as a reformer. And despite having misused more than $50 million of taxpayer dollars on special election referrenda last fall, all of which appears to have been a waste of time.

Free Democrats

Mon Jan 09, 2006 at 12:26:14 PM PDT

Woke up this morning to find myself disgusted, repulsed and, yes, ashamed of the political situation in the U.S. This question keeps arising in me: How could the Democrats have allowed themselves to have sunk so low as to enable the corrupt Republican Party to run roughshod over them and the American people, so brazenly?

Between the blatantly corrupt "give us money and we'll do what you want" Grand Old Prostitutes (i.e. Republicans) and the "give us your support and we'll sometimes do right by the American People if and when we're sure there will be no harm to us politically" Democrats a thought occurs:

NY 25: Dems Have Someone This Time

Tue Jan 03, 2006 at 12:05:15 PM PDT

For those of you from New York state, or anywhere else, for that matter, with an interest in the situation here in the 25th Congressional District, the good news is that we will actually have a Democratic candidate this year, unlike  2004, when James Walsh ran with only opposition from the local Green Party, and no Democratic opponent.

NY 25: Dems Will Have Someone This Time

Mon Jan 02, 2006 at 01:46:16 PM PDT

For those of you from New York state, or anywhere else, for that matter, with an interest in the possibilities here in the 25th Congressional District of NY, the good news is: we will actually have a Democratic candidate this year, unlike  2004, when James Walsh ran with token opposition from the local Green Party, and no Democratic opponent.

Bush: The Mis-leader

Mon Dec 19, 2005 at 11:12:05 AM PDT

To listen to the current claims of the Bush administration, they all just woke up one day and discovered that they were the innocent victims of a terrible hoax perpetrated on them by the
intelligence community.

The tortured, convoluted logic (or lack thereof), demonstrated by Bush and his top lieutenants regarding their disastrous decision to invade Iraq could very well go down in history as one of the most creative legal tactics for getting someone off the hook ever.

An Open Letter to All US Senators

Wed Dec 07, 2005 at 07:28:38 AM PDT

The Hon. Hillary Rodham Clinton, et. al.
UNITED STATES SENATE
Washington, DC 20510

Dear United States Senator:

I'm writing to urge you to oppose the proposed legislation to ban the burning of the U.S. flag.

My opposition is based on several reasons:

Hillary Loses Supporter Today

Tue Dec 06, 2005 at 01:10:08 PM PDT

Hillary Clinton has lost a supporter today. Up until just today, she has had my financial support and volunteer campaign support, for her first Senate election, and her next. She had even been my first choice for presidential hopefuls in 2008.

Today, after reading the news that Hillary plans to join Senate demagogues in wasting their time and our taxpayer dollars on a non-issue, flag-burning, it occurred to me that Hillary does not care one iota about the viewpoints of her supporters, like me. Our viewpoints on flag-burning have been made clear to her on several occasions.

Hillary Is NOT Pro-War!

Tue Nov 29, 2005 at 04:48:06 PM PDT

For those who have drunk the Kool-Aid of the anti-Hillary
Clinton haters, below is a letter from Hillary Clinton regarding her position on Iraq, dated today.

As you can see, she is hardly a "warmonger" as some have alleged. She's not even "pro-war," as others have claimed.

She is a pragmatist when it comes to foreign policy, a requisite for anyone to become president, and certainly a requisite for anyone who attains that position.

Arnold: The $50 Million Man

Mon Nov 14, 2005 at 12:27:16 PM PDT

That's reportedly  the amount of taxpayers' money which Arnold misused on the special election in November 2005.

He raised massive amounts of money from special interests in order to...do the bidding of those special interests....called it reform...and forced Californians to spend...$50 million on special elections that were unnecessary and uncalled for.

Perhaps a surefire way of helping to "facilitate" the political demise of Arnold wuld be for Democrats to have, as one of their objectives over he 11 months, to ensure that Californians come to refer to him (unaffectionately) as "the $50 Million Man."

The $70 Million Man

Sat Nov 12, 2005 at 12:54:31 PM PDT

That's reportedly  the amount of taxpayers' money which Arnold misused on the special election in November 2005. (Have also seen the number "$50 million," which would also work (i.e. "The $50 Million Man."))

He raised massive amounts of money from special interests in order to...do the bidding of those special interests....called it reform...and forced Californians to spend...$70 million on a special election that was unnecessary and uncalled for; for ballot measures rejected by California voters.

Senate Pick-Up Opportunity In Nev.?

Mon Oct 17, 2005 at 11:10:11 AM PDT

Following are excerpts from an AP story about the possibility of a high-visibility challenger to
Republican John Ensign.

While Nevada does not seem to be on anybody's radar screen, and it appears that Sen. Reid has made a personal strategic decision not to aggressively try to oust his fellow senator from Nevada, that doesn't mean that the rest of the Democratic Party can't do whatever it so chooses, such as help to turn this seemingly safe Republican seat into a pick-up opportunity (even just making it competitive, regardless of the outcome, it could be argued, would be a victory for Democrats by forcing Republicans to devote time, energy and resources to what they once considered to be a "safe" seat).

Are You Better Off Today Than...

Mon Oct 03, 2005 at 11:45:00 AM PDT

In thinking about the best way for Democrats to capitalize on the rotting stink from the Grand Old Prostitutes running the unelected government in Washington, a couple of thoughts have occurred about how best to frame next year's Congressional elections.

Ferrer: Leaderhip That Money Can't Buy

Mon Sep 19, 2005 at 11:29:04 AM PDT

This is certainly contrary to conventional wisdom, but a lot of people other than just me apparently believe that the New York Mayoral race is not yet over. Barring any blunders like the comments regarding the the police's role in the Diallo affair earlier this year, Fernando Ferrer still has a chance of ousting Michael Bloomberg as Mayor.

Here's a message from Howard Dean, received last week. As is most often the case, Howard Dean, speaks for me on this one:

Strike While The Iron's Hot?

Tue May 24, 2005 at 06:22:40 AM PDT

Now that the radical right-wing extremists of the Republican Party are livid about their inability to enact the "Nuclear Option" in the Senate, am wondering if this might be the ideal time to begin inserting gigantic wedges between them and moderate Republicans again.

There are a couple of opportunities immediately available:

-Get some Democrat just itching to show bi-partisanship by working with Bush on his proposal for amnesty for illegal immigrants
(Holy Joe, perhaps we've found a useful purpose for you?).

Another possibility to help create havoc among Republicans would be for the Democrats in Congress to propose a balanced budget act.

In any case, it seems that now may be the time to "strike while the iron's hot," in terms of dividing the Republican Party?

George Waker Bush: Conman-In-Chief

Thu Apr 28, 2005 at 07:18:11 PM PDT

What Bullshit. His practiced sincerity. His
totally rehearsed responses to expected questions
(did they require questions in advance, as usual?)
What a total farce. Was there any single question that was either spontaneous or unrehearsed?
This is truly the most bogus administration in
American history.
